About Supiah Bint Mohd Ishak
Mrs. Supiah Bint Mohammed Ishak a mother of 9 who lives in Muar, Johor.
– She has children with ages ranging from 4-19 years.Ā
– Her husband can visit the house only once in a week or two which leaves her to run the household alone.Ā
– Her family income is RM 2,600 on an average. Supiah contributesĀ RM 90Ā from the net margin profit of her food stall.
Story
Supiah is a 33 year old mother of 9 from Pasir Gudang, Johor. Her husband works as a supervisor in Malacca with a monthly income of RM 2,600. Because of the long distance between Johor and Malacca, Supiah’s husband is able to come home only once in a week or two.Ā Together, they have to support their 9 children all of who are still in school.Ā
With her husband being away for most of the month, Supiah is tasked to take care and bring up her 9 children.Ā
Supiah started a small-scale frozen Malay kuih muih food stall which she runs on a part time basis. She is a very hardworking woman who tries her best to help her family.Ā What’s astonishing to note is that every month, Supiah earns approximately RM 90 only from the net margin profit of frozen kuih (vadei, kuih koci, agar-agar cendol and other local kuihs).

Profit Margin (75%): 75% x RM 120 = RM 90
Her entire income depends on the number of customerās she gets. According to her, the income earned every month (including her husbandās income) is not enough for their family’s expenses when coupled with the school and medical expenses for her children.

The Solution
Due to such a bad financial condition and so many mouths to feed while her husband is away, Supiah is determined to become more independent and support the family financially.
To empower herself, she plans on expanding her small scale food business. Through your donations to this campaign, Supiah will have the opportunity to expand her kuih muih food stall business further. It will help her to buy better tools, more raw material and equipment to increase her daily output and satisfy her customer demand so that they return to her for more business.

The donations to this campaign will be used to cover the business expenses instead of taking from her daily income. The donations will provide her the cushion to use her income to take care of the daily expenses of her children and medical bills instead.

She hopes that when her children have completed their studies, they will become the pillars to support the family. As a mother, she is trying her best to support and meet all the necessary costs so that her children can focus on their studies properly.
